Co-determination: how does it work at My Red Light?

Because your opinion matters to us, we are inviting all sex workers who are renting a window at My Red Light to voice their ideas on rental conditions, working conditions and other important issues. There is a bi-weekly meeting where renters can do this, plus your ideas are always welcome informally, during shifts.  Also, a part of the My Red Light team and Management Board consists of people who have a background in sex work.

Health and social care organisation HVO-Querido is providing support for My Red Light during the establishment process of the organization, the management board and business operations. This support is of a temporary nature and is aimed at the total independence of My Red Light.

Does My Red Light contribute to the normalization of sex work?

Because of the stigma attached to sex work, access to business services is often limited for sex workers and sex businesses. However, because sex work is a legal profession in the Netherlands, sex workers should have the same rights, and thus the same level of access to business services, as other entrepreneurs. That is what we are working hard to achieve.
